Fashion Fit - 2012 Spring and Summer Trends

Hey everyone!

Long time, no see! I'm sorry it's been so long, but I'm finishing my bachelor's degree this month, and I have a TON of work to do.

That's no excuse, so I thought I should make some time for this blog and decided to do a post on my favorite trends for the upcoming season.

Enjoy.

1. Color blocking

We already had something very similar last summer, but this year this trend is crossing over another trend with geometrically shaped patterns, rather than having single-color pieces. This style actually allows you to color block with one single piece and wear something more casual to go with it. For example, you can pair a comfy pair of jeans with a shirt that has a geometrical cut like in the bathing suit, and that's it. Of course, you can always opt for the bolder option with many pieces with many colors, but not everyone is willing to purchase that many clothing items to be on trend.

2. Floral patterns

What is the best way to celebrate spring this year? Sporting some colorful buds yourself and making your wardrobe into a colorful bouquet! Whether it's dresses, shirts or even pants, flowers are everywhere this next season! It's a great way for those of you who don't really want to wear the bold color-blocking pieces to add some color to your outfits. You can style in many different ways, from a cute and flirty summer to look, with a colorful dress paired with some heels, to office chic with a sheer blouse and some whites and nudes, floral can do it all!

3. Pastels

Lilac, powder blue, pistachio, angora... No, those are not cat names, but the pastel colors you'll be wearing this spring. Do you love sweet and powdery shades? Then, it's your season. It's time to bring out those sorbet colors out of your closet to look nice and fresh this spring.

Let me know in the comments what YOUR favorite season trends are.

Love,

Nina.
